Alaska takes care of its own. Each month, our Giveback Program selects a person or family in need. We work with local retailers to bring together supplies and hands-on help for projects that make life safer or better.

Dave has been building homes since he was 16 and brings 30 years of experience as a paramedic and firefighter to his work at Palmer HandyMedics. Helping people has long been part of his life.
He moved to Alaska in 2016 and fell in love with every aspect of it. Summer outdoor projects are a particular favorite, especially when the finished work helps clients enjoy the Alaska views around their homes. For Dave, a job is done well when the client is over-the-moon happy with the whole project and can sit back and enjoy it.
Giving back is his favorite part of community life. Through HandyMedics, he wants to help build a culture where young Alaskans take pride in caring for Alaska and its residents.
Outside work, Dave makes the most of Alaska: snowmachining, dirt biking, off-roading, snowboarding, fishing, hunting, hiking, camping, and exploring by kayak or canoe.

Meet Hunter.

Hunter brings hands-on experience in flooring installation, interior finishing, residential construction, and heavy-equipment operation to the HandyMedics team. He enjoys projects that call for problem-solving and attention to detail, keeping the job organized, and finding efficient ways to do quality work. He’s always ready to learn something new.
For Hunter, doing a job well means taking responsibility for the finished result, communicating honestly, and treating each project with the care he would give his own home. He takes pride in stepping up, keeping projects moving, and being someone his team and customers can count on.
Alaska is home. Hunter values the independence, perseverance, and hardworking neighbors who make this state special. He believes in lending a hand, sharing what he’s learned, and helping build a community where people look out for one another.
Off the clock, you’ll find him hiking Alaska’s mountains and trails with his boxer, tackling hands-on projects, or tending his houseplants. One of his favorite things about life here? A normal workday can end with mountains, wilderness, and another trail waiting just down the road.
